Bizarre Beauty at LFW

Toga's Brushed Brows
Taking the classic brushed brow to the extreme, Toga used a verticle motion to increase their volume for maximum impact.

AF Vandervorst's Clown Eyes
An impact for the eyes, AF Vandervorst's clown-inspired beauty bizarrely juxtaposed the bandage masks the models wore on the catwalk.

McQueen's Hair Jewels
Because the odd bobby pin just won't suffice, Alexander McQueen decked their models out in an array of embellishments strewn across messy up-dos.

Zandra Rhodes 60s Eyes
A dreamy mix of baby blue and pink, 60's eye looks reached a whole new level of psychadelia with Zandra Rhodes' models.

Edda Gimnes Cartoon Brows
Juevinile scribbled brows to centre stage at Edda Gimnes' collection that showcased sketch-esque pieces.

James Kelly's Halloween Horror
Indescribable and undeniable disturbing, James Kelly's models might have been wearing normcore balck but their faces depicted something altogether frightful.

Ashley Isham's Filigree Face
Midas makeup is a popular one with the runways but Ashley Isham took a different approach. Looking half masquerade mask, half tattoo, the gold detailing was decadent.

Ashish's Lip Must Match Wig Rule
An unspoken rule no-one has heard of, Ashish went matchy matchy with statement afros mimicking the array of colours the models wore on their lips.

Day One and Two of LFW

With the fashion crowd hopping across the pond from New York to take on London, the first two days of Fashion Week saw famous faces (Henry Holland), Quirky comebacks (Pam Hogg) and sublime accessories (Sibling). Let's recap day one and two:

Day one saw the legendary Pam Hogg give a retro spin on acid brights as velvet became the striking fabric of choice, while Sibling's socks and heels combo came complete with ruched finishings on the calf. Alexa Chung and Daisy Lowe were seen on the front rows as Bora Aksu adopted stone shades adding fur focal points and accessorising with waterproof-frilled bonnets. Day two saw a certified palette bursting with prints and patterns; Shrimps showcased bubblegum pink two piece suits while Markus Lupfer's retro floral pieces charmingly matched one another. House of Holland took a fresh approach to layering to spring layering and Gareth Pugh's models stunned in striking star prints finished with halo-esque head pieces.

Street Style at LFW

Fashion Week has finally arrived in London and I popped down to the Soho location to scout out some fresh street style. From spring pops of colour to hand-painted jeans and romantic florals, an eclectic mix of trends dominated the first day of the style event.

Day One and Two of NYFW

Fashion month is finally here and it kicked off on Thursday in New York city. The fashion crowd were out in full force and with Yeezy Season 3 and shows like Jason Wu and Adam Selman taking place, the first couple of days set the bar for a captivating week. Here are some of the highlights:

Thursday saw the bizarre presentation of Yeezy's third season at Madison Square Gardens, the city's largest stage. Displaying his latest collections, he also used the event as an opportunity to give the audience a first listen to his album 'Life of Pablo'. Elsewhere, up-and-coming model Ruth Bell walked for Jason Wu. Showing that co-coordinating your accessories with your separates were Tanya Taylor with her retro floral gloves and Jason Wu's check bags. Experimenting with bold kohls, Adam Selman's models showed imperfect eyeliner is the way to go this season as Zimmermann's heavy lace and embellishments had aura of the romantic.

Spring Wishlist

It might still be winter but I just want to jump into spring fashion after looking at what is on offer. From crazy paisley dresses, sassy slogan tees and exotic fruit print fancies, I can't wait to embrace the sunshine and the new season clothes that come with it.

Spring is a transitional season for clothes, as the furs get packed away and the lighter trenches, cropped jackets and the dust coats are awakened from their wintry slumber. My spring wishlist incorporates streaks of winter trends- cleated heels and ripped mom jeans- and fuses it with new season shades- Grafea's crisp ivory backpack and Moschino's rose gold wristwatch step into spring, while River Island's lime ribbed top that says "I'M HERE".

My Favourite Online Stores at the Moment

There's a whole world of choice out there and thanks to the internet, you can pretty much buy anything you want from any country! For me, it is all about finding small stores or individuals who make unique pieces, items that were previously out of reach on the high street. Instagram has been the main channel that helped me find these stores, but a lot of them I found through Googling. It's definitely worth searching around if you are looking for something specific as you could support smaller designers and labels!

Clothing

O Mighty
My favourite online clothing site of all time, O Mighty helps feed my '90s obsession. Their cheeky store is based in Singapore and often bases its print on current pop culture trends. From Justin Bieber mug shot socks, to Clueless sweatpants, Kim Kardashian cry-face phone cases to chicken nugget print skirts, everything is totally hilarious and totally worth the money. Celeb customers range from Miley Cyrus, Azealia Banks, Hayley Williams and Justine Skye.

Jade Clark
An individual that I found through Instagram, I fell in love with Jade Clark's '90s inspired pieces, mixed with a 21st Century edge. Her pieces have a wonderful delicate appearance and are dominated by feathers and holograms.

Somewhere Nowhere
Somewhere Nowhere is a place I go when I'm in the money, or when there is a sale. Previously I detested the thought of wearing fluffy jumpers but this label has changed my mind completely. Mixing faux fur with sheer panelling, this brand is not for the shy and retiring!

Shoes
Cleated heels are to me, the must have wardrobe accessory and I spent a good month going between these two sites trying to decide which pair of shoes I wanted.

My 1st Wish
With an array of flats, boots, heels, sandals and wedges, there is a little too much choice at My 1st Wish. I love unusual pieces but for those looking for neutral shades they have nude/white pieces available.

La Moda
For me La Moda always seems to answer my cries for fashion help. Their cleated heels are superb - I ordered Harper in nude and was thoroughly impressed with a quick delivery and such stunning shoes! Their range of accessories is equally inspiring and I am so excited they teamed with Vida Kush to bring faux septum rings to the UK. Call me sad but I would rather try out a faux ring than get someone to stick a needle in my nose!

Beautiful Bodysuits

No faux pas wardrobe is complete without a snazzy bodysuit, and whether you are opting for sultry evening wear, or looking for a top to wear with jeans, bodysuits are the way forward.

Celeb inspiration comes from the wonderful Katy Perry, who wore a candy themed bodysuit complete with multicoloured swirls around the bust- eye-catching! Kate Moss went racy in a nude bodysuit with embellishments covering her assets, and a white ring-leader blazer for a (slightly) more conservative look.Leigh-Anne Pinnock of Little Mix grunged her sheer panelled bodysuit with leather-look hotpants, a chunky chain and a striking red bomber jacket. Jennifer Lawrence kept it classy with a fabulous slate sheer gown with a plain black sleeveless bodysuit.

Bodysuits provide a sexy, fitted alternative to an evening top, the quirkier the better!

My  Poison Ivy bodysuit is from aliexpress, the t-shirt version can be found at Black Milk for $60 AUD.

Oh Hey There

I've wanted to set up a fashion blog for a long time now and with a few minutes to spare, I thought I would squeeze in some writing time.

I'm passionate about high fashion and indeed high street fashion, but most of all, the quirky pieces that arent really seen around a lot, hence 'faux pas' being part of the title of my blog.

With a mixture of style and beauty to be incorporated in my posts, I do hope you enjoy what I have to say and I would love you to share your thoughts and your blogs too, would be great to read!

Ciao x
